Gran Canaria Beaches

Playa San Boronbon

A secluded and large dark sandy beach located on the northern most point of La Garita. During high tides it's easier to get access from the north part of the beach as the smaller to the south cove can be lashed by waves.

Do pay attention the the flags as the waves here can be quite brutal and there's a wind too though the larger part of the beach is protected to one side by a cliff. That still doesn't make the waves any safer though. There are also no facilities here.

You have Playa La Laja less than 10 minutes drive away which is a much, much better option if you're looking for a local beach with dark sand. There's even natural pools over there so you're always guaranteed a swim.

To get here, use the map below to get to La Garita (where there's also a more wave-friendlier beach) and either walk along the prom for 10 minutes or park 2 minutes further north.
