Las Salinetas is one of Gran Canaria's many beaches that each year is awarded the Blue Flag for excellence. It's found in the town of Melanara (not far from the airport next to the island's second cuty of Telde).
Melanara is fortunate enough to have two very large, dark sand beaches and they have both been awarded the blue flag. They are a 10 minute slow stroll along the promenade apart. If I'm being honest, Playa Melenara (the other one) is the nicest of the two being larger and having more local restaurants on the edge to choose from. Las Salinetas is the quieter and more relaxing of the two.
Very easy to drive to (not so easy from the south on public transport). Head to Al Campo / Ikea shopping area next to the motorway then turn off and follow the sign for Melenara.
