Gran Canaria Beaches

Patalavaca

The very small resort of Patalavaca has three beaches, the very small and hardly used Aquamarina beach but also the very complete and absolutely fantastic Anfi beach. Anfi is very much a tourist beach with a tourist feel so if you're looking to see where the locals go ..... actually they go to Anfi beach too but hardly any of the tourists go to Patalavaca beach so it has a more Canarian feel to it.

The downside to this beach is it's not big, especially when there's a high tide. Be sure to check as to what point the water reaches then try not to drift asleep unless you know for a fact the tide is going out and not coming in. It can on some days cover the entire beach leaving no dry sand to lie out on.

There's a sea-front walkway here the takes you to the other two beaches in one direction (15 minutes walk to Anfi) and to the town of Arguineguin (again, 15 minutes walk) in the other direction. You've got a couple of restaurants and bars on hand, even a supermarket up on the top level and again, it's easy to get to with plenty of parking around and a regular bus service every 20 minutes.
