In the spring of 2013 a motorway extension was opened that now takes you all the way to Mogan. Previously the last part of the journey was along a scary cliff-top road that took anything from 20 minutes to half an hour (from Puerto Rico). Now along the new motorway it’s 5 minutes or so. This makes Mogan an even more appealing day out if you combine its charm with its Marina with its restaurants with its beach.
Yet more of the golden sand from the Sahara and this is also a blue flag beach so plenty of facilities and of course a lifeguard on duty. The promenade along the beach has several restaurants for snacks, drinks or meals but if you’re looking for lunch or dinner head round to the Marina, the better ones are round there.
Monday to Thursday are the quieter days, Friday is a very busy market day and the week-end gets busy with locals. Good breakwaters and no steep inclines make this a nice beach for the kids.
The bus station is five minutes’ walk from the beach with a service every 20-30 minutes round to Puerto Rico, Playa del ingles and north.
