The Urban Park of the South will host from August 11 to 13 the "Maspalomas Music Festival", a musical event with artists from the three continents, Europe, America and Africa "for all musical tastes and especially family".
The event will have free admission to the Amphitheater of the Urban Park of the South (Paruqe Sur, Maspalomas), with capacity for about 4,500 people, and will have a wide musical range with sounds ranging from pop, rock, cumbia, chamambé and electronics.
"The goal is to reach the greatest number of different sectors of the public to give continuity over time to the musical festival, a format considered as a powerful economic engine," Clavijo said at a press conference.
The French artist Gaspard Royant, the Argentine singer La Yegros, the group of South Africa Skip & Die, Juan Zelada and Mastretta (both from Spain) compose the poster of international artists.
Also performing during the weekend the Canary groups Mondo Diávolo, Raw103, Sexy Chocolate, Purple Eyes, Zeason, and rapper Aniba.
The City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana dedicates to the festival 50,000 euros, and fulfills "with some of its challenges that is to support multiculturalism, complement the cultural and leisure offer, as well as promote one of its most emblematic spaces, the Urban Park of South ", said the mayor of Eventos y Festejos, José Carlos Alamo.
On Sunday the 13th is scheduled a concert in which activities will be alternated for the youngest and families.
The first edition of the Maspalomas Music Festival will feature a food and beverage area prepared by well-known restorers of the island of Gran Canaria.
