One of the largest carnivals in the world is fast approaching. "Flower Power" is this year's theme so expect lots of 70s costumes, platform shoes have always been a thing here when dressing up. The main parade attracts around a half a million visitors and during the three weeks of celebrations most weekends attract 100,000 with Parque Santa Catalina hosting the various shows and competitions. Having read a local article today about a post deleted off Tripadvisor for being homophobic, I thought I'd try and clear things up a little for anyone who has either a) heard Gran Canaria and particularly Playa del Ingles is full of gays, outnumbering hetero couples 2 to 1 or b) have no idea that anywhere on the island caters for the gay market.
First of all I should say I've chosen the top restaurants according to my and my friends personal taste though my friends do eat out a lot and we have been here for many years so we hope you'll agree with us once you've tried them. In no pàrticular order other than they are the best :-
