Aguimes Market
Thursday 29 May 2014, 08:00am - 02:00pm
Hits : 702792

A traditional market selling local produce for the residents every Thursday.

This could be an entire day out if you combine the market with the morning in the village. One of the prettiest villages on the island, the historic quarter is multi-coloured stone buildings, streets lined with statues, beatiful murals painted onto the walls, spectacular church.... lots to see in the village itself as well as the market.

A 15 minute drive from here is the valley of Guayadeque, famous for its village of caves. You can walk around the village and see inside the restaurants and the church (all of which are caves).

It's an easy 25 minute drive up the motorway followed by 15 minutes driving through streets to get to Aguimes. Don't try it by bus as it takes too long and it's not very frequent.
