So this is my gym; I never thought I'd join one as I've always been too puny and skinny but more recently, I started to get a fat belly too so decided it was worth the humiliation of being the strangest shaped person in a room full of posers and do something about it. I'm happy to say I was very wrong and am very pleased/impressed with the place and am there 5 evenings a week.
  
There's always a nice atmosphere and cross-section of people there, lots of other funny shaped people and of course, lots of healthy looking people getting even healthier. Quite a few Spanish but there's a lot of English, German, Scandanavian and other nationalities there too, a nice cross-section of people.
The place gets a little busier in the evening with residents, once they've finished work but during the day and even weekends, there's plenty of tourists from the area taking advantage of the facilities also.
  
Everything's very modern; the latest equipment to come on the mareket has been installed, all very technical and space-age in design but so easy to use. Of course, the traditional free weights and benches are ther in abundance also and the three classrooms host regular, hourly sessions of power fitness, combat fitness, spinning, aerobics, aqua-aerobics, fat burning classes, toning classes and yoga.
Friendly experts are there as instructors, happy to spend time with you to show you how to use any piece of equipment or sit and chat to see what kind of classes or excercises are going to suit you best. If you're resident here or here for a while they can work out a fitness training program for you to follow each time you visit.
What else, facials, massage, dry and steam sauna, heated pool with under-water massage beds, various types of jacuzzi and power jet treatments, comfy sunbeds, padel tennis and even a private nudist area that of course nobody seems to be using.
  
You can get a pass to use all the installations for a day, a week, 2 weeks, a month or a year. Kids are welcome up by the pool so if you find yourself in Maspalomas with few if any facilities around the complex to enjoy, this could be a nice option for you. If you're already on a trraining program back home and don't want to be away from the gym for a week or two, this is by far the best gym on the island.
