I need a new sofa bed and due to the poor exchange rate it seems worthwhile to arrange shipping from the UK. Has anyone had any experience or advice on this as the manufacturer is confident they can arrange this for me on a pallet?

you will probably have to pay import taxes on a sofa bed and costs of the shipping. Phoenix travel arrange container shipping etc.
In the end you may not save much and have more hassle
Oh dear I had forgotten about those taxes! Trouble is can't seem to find a sofa bed we like on the island, back to the drawing board I guess.
The impor taxes for a sofa is 5%, you have to add shipping cost and customs paperworks cost, just to bring one sofa is maybe not suitable but you can ask for a quote at www.cargolanzarote.es they have direct shipping services from UK into Canary Islands Lanzarote Fuerteventura Gran Canaria Tenerife La Palma etc...
