Which kinds of lizards are there on Gran Canaria? Does some kinds of lizards come into your house? Are you allowed to feed them if they do, or is that wrong to do if you want them to eat the cockroaches?
We only get the little lizards in our house. The only thing they'll eat would be the mosquitos - cockroaches are a bit big.
Unfortunately my cat likes to eat lizards so not many survive in the house nowadays.
A friend had a bearded lizard in their garden that they took to Jardin canario in Tafira
We always have a few little ones in the apartment we stay in but there is a shaded garden at the back of the building where there are some huge ones! One day I shall try and get a closer look at them but I have to conquer my fear of the little ones first!
One month till we go back to PR yay!!!
I heard they are quite selective as to which apartements they frequent. I was well chuffed today when we found one behind the sofa.
They are so cute. It was resuced to a safer place tho.
Saved me going for my walk along the cliff path today.

Lizards are quite fascinating, Saw one with a totaly flourescent blue tail the other day, but its body was normal colour. When i asked a native here why? he said somebody caught it by the tail, and when you do that it sheds it tail immediately, and runs away, apparently you are just left with its tail in your hand, Then it grows another one and can be quite a few different colours when the tail grows back, so im told. They can be quite big as well, you see the very big ones in the countryside, but they hide away a lot, so its not very often at all that you see them, just the baby ones mostly.
PS i must have some big ones, as they take big bites out of the strawberries, cant think what else would be doing this, almost the whole strawberry is gone, you can see its a big bite mark in the middle, and well if they like oranges, sweet things.must be.?
Lizards love those cherry tomatoes too - so maybe they like red/orange colours
THANKS Mary it is the lizards then, they only touch the ripe ones, so ill have to get them in fast in future before the lizards. Ha Ha
