Sea-level warnings in Las Palmas

Down in the south of the island we should be fine but be careful with the beach flags, especially along Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles beach for the next day or two. If they are red, don't go swimming in the sea!

Another weather "ornge alert" has been issued in the north of the island, this time for the tide levels which around the north coast are expected to increase by 5 to 6 meters due to excessive rain levels.

Whilst the warning is for the north of the island and not expected to reach critical level until late this afternoon or during the course of the evening, extra vigilance should be taken along any beach where a strong current can be seen.
