Camel Rides

Have heard that you can take a camel ride in maspalomas.

Are these available at the beach or is it classed as an 'excursion'?

What sort of cost is it? Are small children (6 years and 18 mths) allowed to ride (with an adult).

they are nt on the beach - its a nature reserve so they arent allowed. I've seen a camel ride place on the way to Fataga - so i would expect its an excursion

There are Camel Rides in Maspalomas. They are situated down on the left hand side of the river. They don't actually go on the beach but through the top part of the dunes - Sand /gorse area. There are also Camel Rides at Fataga.

The camel rides always seems like a good idea, they allow children of any age our youngest was really small when we took him he sat on dad's lap.
The camel excursion is ok...very uncomfortable and can get extremely hot and dusty.

Had friends over last week took them on camel ride, you can go on tour from hotels inc bbq in package or if u have transport head towards fataga short time after passing Mundo aborigine (dont go there) you will pass two sites on your left, very easy to spot, first is cheaper 10 euros per adult but a little tatty, second is a really nice site little more pricey but option of longer ride if u want includes free drink in price. staff were great. One of the kids didnt fancy it so mum stayed behind with her and they were happy to refund ticket price for them. As far as I know open everyday except sundays.:wacko:
