Is Playa del ingles family friendly? I am going there with my fiancée and two kids in three weeks and wonder whether it is an adequate place for families or for party animals?

I mean, I dont mind if there is lively nightlife as we are gonna stay in the hotel in the evening and our hotel has been rated the best family friendly hotel of the resort in trip advisor. But i ve just seen that in summertime, young people go to playa del ingles to party all night and i am a bit woried now, don t get me wrong, i do like partying as well. but i wouldn t want my family holiday spoiled by party animals on the beaches and in the streets even during the day like you would find in benidorm. Is that the case in playa del ingles?

I think like most resorts, the party animals tend to stay in bed half the day so I really wouldn't worry, especially if you say you are intending on staying in the hotel most nights. The nightlife in playa seems to be confined to centres, ie Irish, yumbo, and a couple of others plus I think most holiday resorts are a lot quieter nowadays with a lot of people going all inclusive. Plenty of families go to playa so go and have fun.

Just wanted to say I totally second what victor64 said.

I'm not one for brash party resorts, but Playa del Ingles - although definitely possessing healthy nightlife, bars, clubs etc. - isn't a 24 hour party place at all. During the day it is quite lovely actually, with couples and families strolling down the beach side promenades, and it has a mellow feel to it during the day. Everything is very family friendly too.

I have been visiting GC since 1998 and this has always been the case in my experience. Like any resort, it comes alive at night, but even then it is pretty much confined to the areas where the commercial centres are, like the Kasbah, Yumbo, Irish Centre, etc.
