Everyone gets a map like this at the entrance to the beach

Joking! They will post something like it at the entrances to the beaches with signs showing which part is for smokers.

When we were in GC in September this was in place, I don't recall seeing signs on PR beach but there was a smoking/non smoking section in Mogan, Amadores and when went to Anfi as much as it all looks good the smoking section sand was littered with cig ends as well a loads in the sea, I even came across a floating condom which frankly put me off swimming or even going back to Anfi... maybe smokers could be handed by the guys that takes the bed money the little tin ashtrays that they can dispose in bins when finished sunbathing, this might reduce the mess a bit..

I havent been to GC for a few years now waiting till my little girl is a bit older she's 14 months old i'm a smoker myself and have always took my cigerette ends away with me discarded in a bottle of water. I think it's disrespectful to leave fag butts or any other rubbish on the sand it's not too hard to respect the wishes of the law.

I totally agree. My friend smokes on the beach but always uses an empty drink can to flick the ash and the butt into. I cannot comprehend smokers who use the sand as if it is an ashtray. It is easy as hell just to either take something with you to use an an ashtray or do likewise with a used bottle or can.

It is vile and disgusting to litter the beach with ash and fag butts. Totally lazy and selfish.
