    Oh dear

Hi - can you give me some examples of where that is happening - maybe copy the link from your browser here or direct me to them?

Hi Owen, It seems to be ok to-night , I have managed to put a couple of posts on , Last night I could not read your reply I just got a blank page.

It's been happening for the last 2-3 weeks. If it happens again I will try to give you a bit more info. Thanks.

    Merging the two forums

As most of you know, I tried to change the forum and website and nobody really liked the new layout. It was up and running for about 8 months or so and a lot of posts were made over on the new site/forum.

Mikey here has spent ages looking at a way of importing the posts from that other forum over here and last week he managed to do it. For a couple of days things might have been off as first, the posts were being moved over and after that I had to do some maintenance here to make sure they all registered OK. The forum wasn't taken offline during that so maybe that was the cause of the problem.

Anyways, things look good again, all the posts are here and a HUGE thanks to mikey for sorting that out with me!!!

As far I have been able to tell, all the posts and threads from the other forum were imported OK. As Owen said, it was necessary to completely reindex the site after the import and during that time some of the threads may not have displayed correctly. I have rechecked some of the threads that had problems at the time and they are all displaying correctly now.

Due to the differences between the two forums some of the imported posts may be missing images and may be formatted differently.

I have had a quick look at this just in case part of the problem was a result of the previous import.
The problem was not caused when the old posts were imported but I believe I know what is causing it...

I have been able to replicate the problems you describe here using Google Chrome running on Windows Vista (I think you are using Chrome on XP) with the 'Adblock' extension installed. Disabling the extension does not work but if you make an exception for www.canaryforum.com most of the forum will display correctly. I have not been able to get the galleries to work this way yet but will investigate further.

You can add the exclusion by doing this - click on the 'spanner' near the top right of the Chrome window, then click on 'Tools', then on 'Extensions', then under 'AdBlock' click on 'Options' then 'Excluded sites' and add www.canaryforum.com

This appears to be a problem only with the Windows version, as the Mac version of Chrome works fine. I believe it is to do with way AdBlock 'sees' the Google text ads which are displayed on many of the forum pages - in some instances it gets confused and blocks the whole page.

I have just tested with a 'clean' install of Chrome on Windows XP and all the forum pages appear to work OK, so it does look as if AdBlock is the culprit
