Are there any maps of Gran Canaria that are more detailed( Like the ordinance survey maps)?
Having done an 8 hour walk on tuesday we would have liked to have been a little more assured where we were going to get to. The maps seem to be a little on the cartoon mode.

I have a map from Discovery Walking Guides which is 1:40,000 scale and is pretty detailed but it only covers the east coast and the centre of the island, not the south coast.(It stops just south of Palmitos Park). It has 35 suggested walk routes marked on it from 2 hour strolls to 10 hour hikes. I bought it a couple of years ago in Canarias Real in Faro 2. It's called "Gran Canaria, Tour and Trail Map " and is blue. Their web site is at www.walking.demon.co.uk

A friend bought a lovely map of the island in London but we could never find it here.
Try the internet?

I got through amazon, 2 walking books
Gran canaria car tours and walks by Noel Rochford printed by Sunflower Books. A small map inside but the descriptions of the walks are very detailed.
The other is by the Rother walking guide - gran canaria - the finest valley and mountain walks - includes individual little maps with each walk.

One day we'll do some of the walks in them!!

Always seems to be plenty of maps/guides available on e-bay. Just type in Gran Canaria in the item search box!!
