Hi there,
My friend and I have set up a new website for the canaries called www.canarianmum.com (http://www.canarianmum.com)
The aim of the website is to provide information for people living in or moving to the Canaries about pregnancy and having babies on the Social and Private systems, schooling (both private & state) and nurseries for older children, places to take your kids, places to have parties, information about healthcare, british/german/expat midwives, mother & baby groups, etc... etc...
Basically, anything and everything to do with having and bringing up children in the Canaries.
We are based in Tenerife South, so pretty much have this area covered... however we need to know about the other areas of the Canaries - what's available? Are there any specific rules for different municipalities (as there often are)?
If anyone has had a child over here, or has put their child in a state or private school, or anything else that might be of use to people living here with children, or thinking of moving out... can you please get in contact with me with whatever information you might have in order to add it to the site and make it a good one-stop resource for everything kid-related.
Having a baby in a foreign place can be very daunting, especially if you are a first-time mum with no family as a support group (and we know). Our aim for this site is for it to be a source of information and support for anyone in that position.
Any help will be gratefully received.

PS to MODS : This appeal is to people on all the Canary Islands, however I wasn't sure if it would be appropriate to copy this post to every Island sub section... would this be OK? or will all people from other Islands see this thread?
