Hi there, after 5 wonderful holidays staying in Maspalomas with a hire car we are looking to make our 6th trip sometime later this year. We really want to stay in Peurto Mogan this time as we love the place, the beach, the restaurants, the market, everything, can anyone recommend some good sites to book accomodation of package deals to Puerto Mogan through? Most places seem to only cater for PDI, Maspalomas etc. Don't mind whether it's self catering or hotel really. thanks in advance

I have just been offered an exchange to the Anfi Beach club unit 545 9th October 06 I've heard that unit doesn't have a view. I would like to hear from anyone who have stayed there. Also how far is the nearest shopping mal to that resourt.

Anfi in general is a lovely resort - nowhere near Mogan though. Shopping Mall -- mm - what sort did you have in mind - there is a small supermarket on the resort but if you want proper shopping, clothers etc, then go to the Atlantico centre in Vecindarrio - all the main stores there

Las Mangueros
is the name of the self catering apartments the first on the left (Pale lemon ones with terracotta roofs) as you start the road in to playa mogan. That the tour operators have now .They are all privately owned but the owners have to give them (into the pool for tourists) its an agreement on some complexes that the owners (should know )? about when they first buy them. Its one of the planning laws that the developers have to abide by if they want to build in certain areas in certain situations. Its a good way to pay your mortgage and community fees if you are only going to use your apartment yourself for a few weeks of every year.On these complexes, you enter into that agreement for about 5 years, then you can take it out of (the tourist accomodation pool) depends on the agreement at the time you sign to buy. Of course there are other small apartment blocks that are (completly private ones). In Playa Mogan and sometimes the owners rent them out also. It depends on the government laws wether you are buying into a complex that has a tourist accommodation stamp on it in the town hall. Its always a percentage of the site for tourist accomodation. Not all of the apartments. The Sue emencia in Playa del Cura for instance is 40percent tourist.
This is (only one )of the reasons why i always advise on buying to use a
lawyer. So you know ( what you are buying into) the laws and so on. (What works for some doesnt work for others) Anyway getting back to the apartments they are lovely but a bit of a walk down the valley to the beach all on the flat. past the hotel. Have a lovely time at the cordial and let us know what your views on it are.

If anybody wants to rent in the port for holidays, the office for La Venicia
the timeshare apartments,Always rent them out as well to the general public,(Opposite the square at the back of the port.) I know of two people owning timeshare there for 3 months each, who never use them themselves, because they have now other apartments in the area That they own outright, and always use those instead,, And venicia rents them out for them and also other timeshare people not using theirs also.Quite cheaper than some others there.

The name (Mango apartments,) is just a short name for the (las mangueras) apartments in the valley of playa mogan pale lemon coloured with terracotta roof ,just before, and next door to; the new el valle self catering apartments of the new cordial hotel.
The private owners have started a website to rent them out privately, calling them by a shorter name MANGO APARTMENTS.

(The westgate apartments) on the road in, on the right hand side, do not have a sign stating that name, The sign on the front of them reads. EDIFICIO FILIN .
The Paraiso, and the Mirador apartments are next door to each other. Paraiso being orange coloured, And Mirador being cream coloured with spanish white balustrades. they are next door to the CASA LILA on calle la Puntilla, Find the bank of santander on the back road to the beach, Go past with it on your right, turn left at the end they are then on your right, The New OASIS APARTMENTS, just started being built, are next door to the green canarian house. at the start of that calle, on the left as you turn up,and opposite the park , (These will be all privately owned, within there own grounds, with communal swimming pool, gardens and parking spaces just for the owners, YES A PERFECT LITTLE OASIS.

The apartments you have booked into havent finished yet - will be by christmas but they are attached to the Cordial Mogan Hotel - which is lovely. They are opposite the new shopping centre so you have a Hiperdino nearby for all your essentials.
Puerto Mogan is a bit out of the way from other parts of the island but taxis are reasonable and so is car hire.
Puerto Mogan beach is lovely and safe, so you should be fine there in the most part with the kids.
Nearby is Taurito lakes - complex of pools with a few water slides - 9 euros a day - relaxing but nice for the kids.
main water parks - one in Puerto Rico and one in Maspalomas - about 21 euro per adult per day.
Theres a few things to be going on with for you
