I have just been to visit the dog shelter just past Aquapark on the way to Ayagaures. I am adopting a dog as soon as I get my house, if that is ever going to work out, and I am going to go twice a week to parttake in the walking of the poor dogs which escape from their cages twice a week. Tuesdays and Fridays, sometime between 9 and 12:30, volunteers are needed to help take them for walks around the area, which is beautiful, by the way. I am certainly going as soon as I finish school which is at the same time at the moment.

I asked the young woman who took me there what was needed, and she told me "everything". She especially mentioned blankets, cages and food and of course money. The blankets are used for the dogs which have been found a home and have to be transported by flight. They get very cold on the way. I am thinking of all my blankets at home, now not needed, or at least all of them, and am going to ask my husband to bring some. But please, those of you, who are animal lovers, please go and visit and see what you can do to help. There are many (horror) stories behind nearly every dog that has ben rescued and some need a home while they are taking medicine, but I can not help at the moment as pets are not allowed here.

PLEASE THINK OR DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AS WELL AS SOMEONE ELSE, TAKE A REFRESHING WALK TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS AND TAKE AN EXTRA BLANKET WITH YOU NEXT TIME YOU COME!

I think that walking dogs for us would be a good option. However it might not be easy to resist getting another dog.

Ron & I went along with Eyja on Tuesday & it was lovely taking the dogs for walks. The countryside is lovely around there.
It was a lovely way to spend a lovely warm Canarian morning.
They are doing a wonderful job there ....But any help would be so welcome.
