On travel agents windows they advertise airport parking from as little as £2 a day. Where can you park for £2 day? Even if I were to book a holiday a year in advance I cannot, actually couldnt find parking for £2 a day at Gatwick and Heathrow. I booked Gran canaria for this April and have gotten free parking as part of the Cruise and stay holiday package, but we are going to the states in October and havent yet booked parking. Usually when you spend a fair bit and are umm and arghing they throw in parking, but this time the baggage in the travel agents wouldnt.
The price between parking on and off airport is maybe a fiver so id be better off leaving it onsite usually with NCP at £8+ a day, and you take the keys away with you. We once parked at the APH (airport parking and hotel) carpark, free from the travel agents. It was a nightmare to find. It was past Gatwick off at the next junction round the houses, and Graham had a fit at having to leave his keys. He kicked up such a fuss he parked it himself and took the keys. When we got back in the early hours they were using a second car to push another, jump starting it. Then APH were on watch dog. People were paying to park there, leaving them the keys and they were taking peoples cars out the car park, leaving them in supermarket carparks, industrial estates and on public roads. People coming back to damaged cars, parking fines and one had no car to come back to. Funnily enough during Grahams fit he had said theyd use his hummer for cabbing, or its end up in a crate on its way to Africa.
We met a couple in Cyprus, who lived in Reading and they were telling us they caught the Gatwick Express (train service). And you see all the coaches and buses on the M25 to Gatwick,Heathrow,Stansted by the time id have paid for the 3 adults, 2 children the costs would mount up. I went on the travel line website and itd be 2 trains and underground or 5 bus/coach changes. With suitcases and children i couldnt face sitting on a bus or train for a further 2hours or so. When I get off the plane, i just want to get home and its easier to just put everyone in one car and go home.
Well we go in October,so youd think we could get some sort of discount for booking this far in advance, anyone any ideas? We cant find any parking for £2 a day.
Thanxs
