I hoping to go away in october booked last year but yet to pay , i am a bit wary about paying the travel agent , its a small buisness and afraid it may go bust and i lose out on the holiday , i was concidering saving it in a savings account but then afraid i might spend it lol

put in on a credit card your covered by the credit card company if they go bust

A friend at work lost all his money a few years back as he had used his debit card

It may be worth while holding back and getting a last minute

Yeah, use your credit card, that way you know you are covered... Even if they do go bust, i would imagine that you would still be ATOL protected anyways, so should still get your money back. Happened to my friends end of last year, with a flight they had booked... Cuz they payed with credit card, and was ATOL protected, it wasnt a problem and got another flight, at no extra cost, no probs...

go with the savings account and give someone (obviously trusted friend) the passbook to look after for you, that way you wont be tempted.

most package holidays have to be payed in full normally around 6 -8 weeks prior to your departure.................so whats to stop them going bust or you losing your holiday in the lead up to it anyway, some companies now have a system where your money is put in to a secure set up and they do not receive payment till you start your holiday and if anything goes wrong then the secure set up returns your hard earned cash to you wsh holidays online are one of those with the scheme. in this day & age why worry be happy after all I wouldnt trust anyone not even myself looking after my hard earned cash just thnk on that one lol

My friend has a pre paid card which he uses
he loads it up with money all year round and takes it with him for car rental
That way they can't bump his card for hidden charges etc when he is home

Same card could be used for saving to pay holiday
