this is good news. But in fairness they really dont have a choice.....
sterling and recession has decimated uk bookings and sheer lack of confidence in ireland is at least making people 'hold off' and wait......
we have traveled to pr twice a year up to now, with the uncertainty (if at all) this years single holiday will be booked much nearer the time....

Personally I think the majority of the resort hotels are very cheap anyway.
Those that continually monitor seasonal prices (likes of me, sad I know) soon get to know which ones give you value for money. After all where else can you get a 1 bedroomed apartment complete with bathroom/shower, and self catering facilities with a swimming pool thrown in for as little as £10 a night per person. Bloody great value and most of the time sunshine too. Yes some will moan about the so called lesser quality places (won't mention names) but most are of an acceptable standard. Doubt if you would get a "TENT PITCH" thesedays in a seaside resort in Britain for £10 per night !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in Las Vegas in Nov 2008 and you could get five star hotels for £ 40 to £50 a night Rooms that are the size of the average GC apartment with en-suite 52 " flat screen TV etc etc
They are 3.000 room hotels and they want you in there and hope that you will lose some money at the casinos
The Americans like everyone else are desperate for the custom
only difference is that they have a bigger property to maintain

Think he said £10 per person (normal capacity is 3 ) £30 per night. Have seen apartments for €22 per night. It would be almost impossible to discount that price.

Always remember that " you get what you pay for "
Don't expect Riu quality for €22 a night
We often see people complaining about this or that apartment
But in G ~ C it is all down to price

have seen acc in pr for £70 for the week and that is for the apt not per person and have passed the info on to a few good people
imagine 3* in pr based on three thats only £23 per person for the week and all with a reputable company.

Yes I suppose you're right.
Maybe our standards are a little to high as we get older and like our comfort. LOL
Maybe I'll give the 22 euros a night a miss.

Hi,
Don`t think the problem is with the accomodation. The problem is with the flight prices. For a family a 4 I am struggling to get flight only prices for £1100 in October whereas I can get a holiday for a family of 4 for £1300 including transfers.Hoping theprices drop but who knows.

Its not just here. Our freinds have been looking at skiing hols for March. Accom is 190 per person for a 1 bed apartment. But by the time they-ve hired skiis, boots, paid for lift passes, flown to Geneva, hired a car. You are looking at 2,000€ for a weeks hols for 2
