Hi- will it be very cold to go to the Siam Park and other water related activities in mid-December (we will be in Tenerife between 10-17 December). Are there any interesting festivals or other activities out of the norm scheduled during this period? do we need warm clothing when going to the volcano areas? Can we see whales in December? does anyone have a updated link for public bus lines, prices, times and information in English? THANKS!!!! Linda

You can use the water parks in the winter - us locals find it too cold but you may be fine! The water is chilly and the sun isnt soo hot so it doesnt warm you up as quickly.
yes you will need warm clothing to go to the Volcano - also get there very early as the queue for the cable car gets really long. Right at the top there is snow and ice and even in the summer I have been caught out in shorts etc and not expecting it to be so chilly.
Victoria on here should be able to advise about Whales and Cyberhiker lives on Tenerife so he may be able to tell you about festivals etc. - The 6th is Constitution day and 8th is Day of the Immaculate Conception - but you'll miss those

Thanks for your reply. Hope to hear from others soon- especially about the chances of seeing whales/dolphins and inputs regarding the use of public transportation. we really don't want to drive around in a rental, but we're not sure the public transportation will be easy enough to use. thanks again

you can see whales and dolphins more or less all the year round. If you take a 3hour + trip most of the companies will offer a guarentee.
