Where can I rent adsl access short time

I am so tired of being scared to death every night since the bungalow was robbed. I have asked my son to come and stay for a week or so, but he needs to be able to work, which means that he has to have someplace he can access internet easily, adsl. Not very hopeful, but asking you anyway, does anyone know what I could do? I do not have adsl and am told that there is none around here where I rent this (frightful!) place.
(I do have Seguridad, but do not trust them to be quick enough!)

Dont suppose he can work from home, save to Cd etc, then go to an internet place and send.
Try and go to an telefonica/internet shop and buy the modem there. Then you just plug it into your phone line and your computer. I think they send the codes etc on to you later.

Surely you can get out of your contract and move elswhere. You cant spend your time being so scared all the time.

I dont think your son coming for "a week or so" is going to stop you being "scared to death every night".

ADSL should be the last of your priorities. For peace of mind and your own sanity you should be looking for a safer, more secure place to rent.

If he is only coming for a week or so surely he can take a break from work to help his mum find this peace of mind.

Thank you both, but I don't think that I have made myself very clear! In the mornings, everythings seems silly from the night before, where I have put bottles upon chairs to hear if someone breaks in, even with the security system. I am just paranoid, I know that. But it doesn't help to know it.

I do not get adsl here where I am renting until I move to the house I have bought, which hopefully will be able to access adsl, I have called Telefonica and others and it is not possible in this area, they say. Anyway, my son staying until I move, in 2 or maybe 3 weeks, WILL make me feel better. He is a big guy and just to have someone here will be better at night. But his work is through the computer, programming, thus not able to work with CDs. And he has to work now. I am still hoping that this can be solved, but I am, like i said last night, not very optimistic. Paranoia, well, someone told me the other day that the thieves waited a while until they knew that the people who have, e.g. computers, have got new ones and then come again. And "my" bungalow is next to a very dark garden... at night.

Well, it is a great day here down south, and until tonight, I am going to stay cool!

You don't say whether he has to work at home (your bungalow) or if a good internet point some where else will do. If so, then there is a very good internet place in Yumbo called "Papalería 2002". It´s on the same block as Owen's office (4th floor), just around the back, next door to the laundrette. I used it for working when I was over there last year and they have a good connection and you can print documents and save files to disk or CD. Also it´s not a café so there's no distraction from café guests. If he needs to use his own computer it couldn't do any harm to talk to them. Maybe they could arrange that.

Thank you, Stefán, but I think it is a bit more complicated than that. I am not going to write any more about this, it is probably no use anyway. He has to hook into his own computers all over the world, nearly, etc. etc. and work 10 hours a day....
