Further to the thread under the Wembleys heading, we met up with Terry last week while we were over, and he is indeed now at the Moonlight bar in Holiday world at Maspalomas - 7 nights a week.

However, if you go to Wembleys and ask for him you are either told they don't know where he is or that he has left the island! The PRs have been threatened with the sack if they let on!!

Go and pay him a visit, Wembleys loss seems to be Moonlights gain.:D

Thanks for the info John...

I am going to PDI in May, and will definately be visiting Holiday world to see Terry.
I was also going to go to Wembly's to give the new guy a chance, but after reading your comments, I don't think I will bother.

Any other info on Terry that you can give would be appreciated, such as is he doing the same sort of act, or is it toned down for a family audience, and has he got his Wembly's equipment with him?

Thanks again...

His intention is to kit the DJ booth out with the wheel and most of the other stuff he had at Wembleys, but this will take some time I guess.
He was last seen installing a rail to hang white socks on !!!

John,
we are going out to playa del ingles on the 10th April, we usually go to the island twice a year, and spend all of our time in wemblys. it wont be the same this year as the man himself is no longer there. it that right that what you have said that Terry is working seven night's a week in the moonlight bar? we asked Matt from the website and i think he a bit of a fibber, what kind of bar is this? does it have other shows on or just Terry's show? is it a very big bar? we will definatley not be visiting wembly's this year. we plan on spending our time at the moonlight bar if thats where he is? is it just a taxi ride away from playa del ingles? Thanks mate.

Hi Vincent,
The info I posted at the begining of last month came straight from the man himself. Terry was planning to have his shows at the Moonlight running pretty much the same as he did at Wembleys, but did say this was going to take a bit of time to achive.I do know he was over in the UK visiting family a couple of weeks ago, but should now be back on the island. Give him our regards when you catch up with him next week.

John + Emma.

PS - you could always double check b4 you go out to holiday world, their 'phone number is 928 73 04 98

Hope you have a good holiday, Vincent.

I am going to PDI on May 6th, and similar to you, I go to Wembly's at least three times whilst I am on holiday, but this time, I probably won't go to Wembly's, i'll check out the Moonlight bar, instead.

Please let me know, on your return, what you think of the Moonlight bar, and let me know if Terry is still on top form, with all his old equipment, songs and props.

Ave a good 'un, and don't forget your white socks!

just got back last night, Terry is on top form at the Moonlight Bar, it was a little quiet at the begining of the week, there was lots of Germans. Terry was over the moon to see us and anybody else who used to go to wembly's, there were a couple of famlies from Wembly's who have visited him. He said he needs a good couple of months to really get the bar going, we are going back in August so hopefully it will be in full swing. At the moment he is doing karoake which he hates but is still having a good laugh with it, he is still doing a lot of his props and is very funny and his sense of fun is definatley not lost. He told us that 2 weeks ago wembly's offered him his job back and he told them to do one !! i tell you what we passed wembly's about 3 times during the week and it was totally dead, one night it closed at 12 cause there was nobody in. there have been no shows on at all and they havent even got a DJ now, the Moolight Bar has a lovely atmosphere its well worth visiting and terry needs all of our support, so please go and support him. the last night was a great laugh he had small crowd and made the most if it, considering his father had just passed away the previous day, that how professional Terry is. Tell him Vina and Alison are asking after him and we will see him soon. Have a great holiday the sun is boiling weather great. Let us know what you think of the Moonlight Bar, and please visit terry he will be over the moon to see you.

I am quite cross that there are still adverts around PDI advertising Terry Bull at Wembleys (last night we saw their van with all the art work advertising his show amongst all the others that are no longer there). Obviously trade description does not enter into the equation here.
But spread the word around folks- Terry is at Moonlight

Just got back from a great week in PDI...only down side was that we didn't get to see Terry.

We went to the Moonlight bar twice, but sadly the barman informed us that Terry was back in the UK, dealing with a family illness or bereavement. (He wasn't very clear, as his English wasn't very good). Our thoughts are with Terry and his family at this time.

On the last night we thought we would give Wembly's a try, even though we said we wouldn't, as it wouldn't be the same without Terry.

To be totally honest, we still had a good time, and the comedian, Ash Wednesday, was very good. They have now got the shows back, every night, and although it wasn't packed, the place still has a good atmosphere.

Terry's replacement, Abie is OK, but obviously not as good. He still does the wheel, but before the show, not after.

Also, I was not impressed by the Moonlight bar. It had no atmosphere, so we only stayed for one drink. The DJ who was on, Roy George, was quite simply terrible.

I honestly hope that Terry will return to Wembly's very soon, as the two go together very well. I can't see Terry staying at Moonlight bar for too long, it just isn't right for him, and although Wembly's is still OK, it isn't half the place it used to be.

What do other Terry fans think? Should we start a campaign to get Terry back at Wembly's????? Let me know your views.

I just want to correct something I wrote in my previous post............

"Terry's replacement, Abie is OK, but obviously not as good. He still does the wheel, but before the show, not after."

Actually, I believe the DJ is actually called Jimmy. The adverts outside say Abie, but I remember the comedian calling him Jimmy, and Wembly's website shows a pic of him, and refers to him as Jimmy.

He was very good....but has a very hard act to follow !!

have to say that i tried the moonlight bar when i was there , and i dont want to offend anyone but i thought it was pants, dark with no atmosphere and terry was´nt there neither, we got told in a grumpy fashion that he was off that night. also my beer tasted funny but could have been a one off. i hope normally it is a great bar and it was just an off night cos i really dont want to upset feelings ya no

I have just noticed that Wemblys website has gone !!

I know it wasn't being updated regularly, but it is rather worrying.

I do hope this isn't the end to what was a fantastic night out location in Playa Del Ingles.

Does anyone have any information about Wembly's, or if Terry is still at the Moonlight bar?

I've just got back from a week in PDI. Went to Wembley Bar a couple of times and had a really good time there. Does anyone know what the website address is, while we were there a guy who worked there came round with a camera and said he was taking photo's of people to put on the website but i've not been able to find it. Cheers

To all on this Terry Bull forum.I have read and read negative comments about wemblys bar.Wemblys is still gong strong,in fact it has been the busiest summer in 5 years.Yes Terry has gone but get over it.You should give other comperes a chance and then comment.Dont slag of the bar or the comperes that have taken over from Terry as this is harsh and not fair.Terry is in the Moonlight bar.If you want to go and see him feel free.It is your choice.I was in Playa del ingles last week and by far the best bar was wemblys. The compere Jonny was,in my opinion, the best they have had in years.Myself and my family had a very good time and i reccomend this to anyone if they are coming over. Some of you on this forum are unsure wether Wemblys is open or not,but you are still intent on giving the place a bad name.I suggest when you come back to pdi, check out wemblys for yourself and then make an assesment.Terry has gone.Big deal.I would not lose any sleep over it.move on and write somethng constructive about Wemblys instead of crucifing it at every opportunity. And for the lady who wanted the website address it is www.wemblysbar.co.uk (http://www.wemblysbar.co.uk) like i said i am just an average holiday goer and i enjoyed my time in Wemblys. Please respect the people who work in pdi.It is a tough job for them all to entertain people all year round.Lay off them.

I agree that Wembly's is still a great night out...but it is nowhere near as good without Terry.

There is a bit of something missing from my holiday, now that Terry is no longer there. I am yet to see him in the Moonlight bar, as he was away when I was there in May, but the place does not have Wembly's atmosphere at all, so I can't see it being as good a night out as Wembly's.

I will continue to go to Wembly's, but I hope one day soon Terry will return there.

By the way, wemblysbar.com has been down for some weeks now, and even when it was there, it needed updating badly!

I reccomend when you are in pdi again you should check out Wemblys. Its not the compere alone that makes the bar,it is also the shows and the staff.Like i say,the staff told me that terry is in the moonlight bar. They do not hide that fact.I have been going to Wemblys for years and i thought nobody could replace Terry. But i was wrong.Like i say check it out for yourselves and then add a post here and let me know.As regards to the website it is .co.uk at the end and not .com as i have been led to believe.

Hi guys, just to say my mate and I spent a week in PDI and arrived back 10/12/06. We visited Wemblys on the 1st night & had such a great time we were back nearly every night. The compere Johnny is in my opinion very impressive. There was no mystery about where Terry was working, Johnny did infact mention that he had moved on, that people came in to ask after him - and they were upfront about where he had moved to. <- you can't say fairer than that.

Personally I would recommend Wemblys to anyone staying in that area - may not be the cheapest on the island but to be honest who cares when you are having a cracking time? Give it a whirl !!

Big up to FM xx

I couldn't agree more, Rich.

See the latest thread about Wembly's, which I started when I returned from my last holiday, in September.

Thanks for that info....I didn't realise he had left the Moonlight Bar...I should have checked out his website....www.terrybull.com, it does say he is there now!

I hope the Irish Tavern has a better atmosphere than the Moonlight Bar, I only saw him once there, and it wasn't a patch on Wemblys.

He is still settling in and there were loads of germans and scandi's there so he didn't really do much of his Shaggy ect........ as they didn't really understand!
It is a good atmosphere, but i thought Moonlights where ok, didn't know him at Wembley's, but hear good reports from there!
