so looking elsewhere...is the general feeling prices are getting out of familys reaches and concentrating on the young free and single ...plenty of money for two weeks !!!
the rooms the cheapest..but the flight cost are horrendous....

accomodation fine...flights not a nice price and missus is tied to these two weeks

i just did a quick check on price of a complete holiday, this is the cheapest with thomas cook, dont know about the other tour operators but it might be best deal for you if your tied on dates and want to go gran canaria

Skyscanner.net offering same dates for flights at £889.62 - think you should be able to do better than those you quoted above with a bit more shopping around.

yes,
they are good at doing that,:veryangry: but there is a way round some of the added costs,
tell them you don't want the disgusting in flight meals,and although its supposedly for a charity, you don't want to make the contribution, that should knock the price down a bit
travel agents can take alll the extras off that you dont want included anyway
i think first choice are a good example of tour operator that lets YOU decide what extra you want to pay for!

Have you actually compared it to prices to go elsewhere yet?

It's the school holiday week, and I think you'll find that other holidays will also be more expensive at that time.

We had 2 weeks in June for less than 1 week cost the previous October, but when doing price comparisons with other resorts Gran Canaria came out fairly well in comparison to other resorts I may have contemplated.

cancelled holidays at the moment...staying in the uk...thanks to xl airlines collapse....all the prices have went through the roof ..

i bet a lot of people in the forum have used xl at one point...
i feel sorry for them that have lost money...they are reporting another 4 airlines in trouble...did not name them though...easyjet are one..that said they would just breka even..which means the bankers may call in thier debts.!!!!!
