Hi all,
Has anybody had any bad experiences with the Liberty apartments this year ?
me and my partner are stopping there for 2 weeks in September and have read many reviews, most of them really good but the last few reviews all from May onwards this year are terrible with most people saying that they have had their apartments broken into and had there money and belongings stolen, I couldn't find one good review, we really dont want to be robbed again this year as we had all our money and belongings stolen from us last September whilst stopping in the Barbados apartments and it ruined our holiday and almost put us off coming back, luckily it hasn't 43 days and counting and we will be back ... :tinysmile_fatgrin_t
Thanks

Do you use a safety deposit box and lock things of value away? Also take the same precautions you would at home as regards to locking doors and windows ?
It may seem a silly question but you would be surprised how many people leave their doors or windows open because of the heat !!!

i noticed they reviews also, cause somebody said there money was in the safe when it got stolen, and they had the cleaners sitting in the apartment smoking watching tv, must admit the reviews in the last few months kind of put me off, as we're looking for somewhere to stay for crimbo, booked the flights last night.

Yes those are the same reviews as I read, makes you wonder whether it is even worth getting a safe if this kind of thing happens, holidaymakers are always blamed by the hotel reception but 9 out of 10 times i think they are inside jobs as many cleaners actually live in the apartments. When i was stolen from last year, my door had been locked and all windows were closed and when i got back it looked the same, yet the cleaners had been and everything had been stolen. Hotel reception blamed it on holidaymakers and said it happens all the time he wouldnt even let me use the hotel phone to call home and i only had 2 euros to my name with a week to go so had to use those to call home, i was so annoyed, would never stay in Barbados apts again .

my god that must've been awful, touch wood, nothings ever happened to us before, but i'm always petrified that something might.
We stayed in the Carmen apartments before which were lovely apartments, we stayed there over crimbo and New Year, the only thing that we found was it was full of Germans, but couldn't fault the place at all. We just fancied trying somewhere different this year, but think we might end up back at the Carmen.

We were back over in May and stopped at the Tamaran apartments which are opposite Mobys restaurant, they were very nice, the pool was always a bit crowded though.
I can recommend the Koka apartments we stayed last April in a 1 bed apartment which was very big and clean and the pool area was lovely, very big pool and was never crowded, oh and the best mexican ever underneath !! would have stopped there this time but there were only studios left and my parents stayed in a studio when they came over with us and they were much smaller than the 1 beds and nowhere near as nice.

the safe in our apt was the large type you set your own code, so unless they can rip the safe out and take it away you should be fine

When my son last stayed at Tamaran he payed an extra couple of euros per night for a superior room located on the higher floors. These rooms enjoy a much better view of the beach from the balconys and are generally better equipped, especially in the kitchen. Only about 5 euros/night extra if I remember correctly. Also they have a large walk in shower rather than one over the bath.
