Vallemar in Puerto Rico is a great place to stay, IF you like a small apartement block with few facilities.
There is a small pool, with sun deck and up a few steps a further sun terrace and garden. There is at present no shop or Bar.
The apartements are big, large lounge, american kitchen, 2 bedrooms, each with 2 single beds and a bathroom equiped with a power shower.
Some apartements have two balconys, others one ( but a very large lounge area) all have an excelent sea view and view of Puerto Rico beneath you. I think it looks like toy town or a scalextric track.
The sun reaches the balconys late morning to early afternon and is with you until it sets. Nov/Feb you can see the sun setting on the sea, the rest of the year it sets behind the mountain.
You are half way up the mountain, or half way down, and can walk to the beach in 10-15 minutes and the comertial centre in less. Amadores is about 40 mins walk, but a nice walk. Walking back a little longer. Cabs cost about 2e from the centre and the beach, 3e from agua la perra and 3.5 from the europa centre. More on Sundays.
The apartements are clean They are often quiet as at present there is only 1 tour operator bulk booking ( scandi)
Reception is friendly, but not open all hours, but there are emergency phone numbers available 24/7 though.
You can hear some noise from the centre at night, but it is not bad and much better than many other places in PR.
Overall, if you are looking for a basic facility, 2 bed base in PR at a fair price try Vallemar.
You can book them through Owen.
