Hey all.
Not long now until I'm off to sunny ? PR. Here's hoping.:packed: . Havent started thinking about the flight yet.

Hope ye can help with the following.

What time is the last bus back from Las Palmas to Puerto Rico and what times do the shops stay open until Not sure what day I'll be heading to Las Palmas yet but I persume it'll be midweek after 2/3pm some time.

Want to be reassured the shops wont be closing up when we are arriving and that I'm safe to get a bus back.

Looking forward to hearing y'all replies

Cheers,

AL.

The buses do run quite late into the evening - the shops will be open every day (Sundays only the larger stores such as El Corte Ingles) and the majority will be closed during 1-4 for their siesta!

You are safe to get a bus back but I would recommend getting a bus up there (No 1 or 91 from PR) and then looking at the times for confirmation when you get to the city - the same number will bring you back to PR. The bus station is very large in Las Palmas - no problems finding your way around but get into the centre of Las Palmas and get yourself a map so you can have a good look around!

Have a good time!

Excellent.

No for the tricky questions.

How much is the bus from PR to Las Palmas and Las Palmas from PR and where do I get the bus from in both PR and Las Palmas

Also if I miss the last bus to Puerto Rico am I likely to get reefed if I have to get a taxi back. How much on average would that cost?

Cheers,

Al.

Everywhere is shut on a sunday, even Corte Ingles. They are only allowed to open a few sundays a year which they save for the time around Christmas. In the shopping centres, the shops dont close for siesta and stay open until about 8pm. Well I leave at 8, so after that i dont have a clue. Dont they have homes to go to!!! The smaller street side shops may shut for a bit in the afternoons, but not all.

And of course "Carrefour" in Vecindario is open until 22.30 (ideal if you like peace and quiet whilst shopping without having a trolley rammed up your "hows your father" )
Most of the other shops in Atlantico close between 21.30 and 22.00

Catch the no 91 from the bus depot in PR and go to San Telmo bus station in Las Palmas. Its the last stop so you cant miss it. Cost 6.15 euros each way. Journey takes about an hour and buses are no smoking.
The shops in Triana (near bus station) close for siesta between half one an half 4 so you are better off getting a taxi to one of the shopping malls (Arenas or Muelle) or to Mesa y Lopez the long avenue where you will find El cortes Ingles, Benetton, Zara and M&S to name but a few shops.
(Loads of lovely shops and restaurants around here). The last no 91 back to PR from San Telmo is 20.15 after that you willhave to get the no 1 which run at half past the hour till 23.30 but takes about 2 hours cos it goes all around the houses.
(www.globalsu.net for bus timetables)

Most shops in both the shopping malls mentioned close at 10 pm as does El Cortes Ingles, other shops close at 9pm. The ones in the malls dont close for siesta but some in Mesa Y Lopez do but these are getting fewer nowadays. You could always take a stroll to Las Canteras beach and have a leisurely lunch at one of the many restaurants along the front during this time.

You could buy a Tajeta Insular for 15 euros which gives you a discount on the buses. You can use it for your journey to and from LP and also on the yellow buses around LP to go between shopping centres.

Happy Shopping.
