I beleive that some travel companies have child places up to age 18 and providing you are still 18 on your return journey then thats fine but if you are 19 while you are over there then you have to travel as an adult.
Most travel companies only have child places up to age 16.

This annoys me. Look at Thomas Cook web site. 13 is classed and charged full payment as an adult. How many groups of 13 year olds travel alone?NONE.My nephew was 15 and charged adult fare on a BA flight so he asked for a beer on flight and was refused. It's a con. Like renting out a one bedroom apartment as accommadotion for three because someone can slum it on the settee.

Yeah...Annoys Me Too. Thats why this time we are trying to rent an apartment ourselves and getting our own flights to avoid all these other charges for under occupancy etc.
A child should be classed as a child until they are 18. Most apartments etc won't entertain you if you are under 18 and travelling without an adult so it is a bit misleading. They need to sort out some sort of rule for all .

Under occupancy is the biggest con of all. The government once said many years ago they would outlaw it, but of course this was only election speak. Most just accept it as a part and parcel of a holiday...but what is the logic?A room occupied by three people will need more towels, sheets and cleaning than that of a apartment occupied by one or two.

They charge 48 euros a night for the appartments in the complex where we are.I don't know how they are furnished but certainly you could get 3 in no problem.
Some of the owners let the communidad rent them out on their behalf.
It then depends what flights you can get.

Children up to 16 years old on the return date of travel can go FREE at selected properties for winter 2006/07, providing that they share accommodation with two customers paying the full price. Free Child places are not available in conjunction with other offers including adult savers. Free places are subject to availability.

I would expect that you would need an adult with you to get child prices. Your friend might get it and not you - if so just split the difference.
You really need to go into the travel agent and ask them

Yes child prices but ONLY when travelling with a full fare paying adult
Actually i think col161 is right its 1 childprice for 2full fare paying adults, with the exception of special deals for single parent families

Although the child price at many of our properties is up to 18 years old, there has to be two adults travelling to then get a child price.
