I'm a postie so for me it's no problem at all. I think strange that the average person would think it difficult. I laugh at the scandis that walk up the hill with ski sticks ...whats all that about???????

when i was there the other week, walked from guanabara park down to agua la pera then up steps to corona rosa then down other side to harbour.
after a drink and sit in the sun walked back up to guanabara park.

another day walked from guan. park to europa had drink then walked back down to harbour, then back up to guan. park.
walked to tauro and back to g.p.
walked to arguineguin and back.
enjoy walking in the sun and it makes that gassy lager taste better.

Less than a mile up a gentle incline, can't see what all the fuss is about.

I can never figure out why people take their cars to the gym (must have power-assisted steering and electric windows) use up a whole load of energy on a machine doing usless work and then drive home through the polluted air.

Wasn't making fuss just a mere observation and I too don't think it that hard either and yes I drive to the gym 3 times a week, just thought it quiet sadistic to do on holiday is all.:have-fun:

Always walked down from the Rio to the beach. Usually got the bus back if we were down by the CC. When we walked we always took plenty of cold water.
Missed the walk this year as we were at the Marina.

First time we did it, we forgot to take water and boy, was that torture???
Always buy a bottle now, before we leave the bottom. Good exercise.

YOU'RE ALL MAD. lol

i walked from palmera mar to Europa and fell over twice and after that it kind of lost its appeal lol

have to say though it wasnt always the beer, those slippy pavements dont help they are a death trap. The first year we went to PR we were there for two weeks and used to walk from the CC up to Puerta Plata pretty much everyday, and also from Puerta Plata to Riosol where our friends were staying.

 Come On,....
Did it every day for two weeks.....To the beach and back to Altamar and with a babystroller!...and I`m born 21443 days ago....
...the bright side off it all was that my dame didn`t oppose when I ordered a large beer in each end off the daily trip!

No one has mentioned the Bahia Blanca hill. Now, if you need a real challenge that is one hell of a hill, extra water needed on this one, & in the heat of the day its a killer. I have been known to slip in the Bahia for ices before the climb.

what about the stairs from puerto rico beach up to puerto azul.

omg only ever did it twice in 8 years but never again. thats hard work. the only good thing is you can stop for lots of rests.

Yep those steps are a killer, done it several times only to try and convince my self I was working the beers off, though I must confess to nearly running up them in 2001 (honest) September the 9th it was, needed to tell the Mrs of the world trade centre attack.

Also we walk part of the Bhia hill to the Europa centre from Gloria's most nights. (wonder if they've fixed that water leak up there yet)?

As for cycling..that's a new one on me, seen couple in decent but none going up, rather them than me.
