From this 1st of January this year, pharmacies in Spain are no longer supposed to sell antibiotics over the counter. They have to have a prescription.
Some may still sell over the counter but they are risking their licence if they do so. Some may be happy to risk it but dont be surprised if they refuse to sell some to you.
At present this ruling is for antibiotics only and not for other medications that you can normally buy over the counter here, that would require a prescription in the UK
