Yes it was. Haven't been there since so don't know the extent of the damage.
There were photo's in the papers I think Island Connections had them in.
Such a pity because a lot of the tourist "bits" feature this landmark.

On a much smaller scale the "shark fin " rock on the Amadores breakwater has also gone. It was there at New Year, but gone now.

They were talking about rescuing God's finger from the sea bed and sticking it back on.
