Stayed there in 2002, they're basic but clean. Only problem for me was they are on the "wrong" side of the valley and don't get the sun until late afternoon - in February anyway -

Friends have just been informed from travel co that the original holiday booking has been altered and that they have been moved to Nevada apartments as an alternative. did a search on here, not an opinion as such of what they are like, anyone have likes or dislikes that i can pass on, they can make their own decisions when they get there, but any helpful hints would be good to pass onto them. i have showed them whereabouts they are in resort.

cheers

What yflood said. I stayed there about 5 years ago and they were fine. If you have too much to drink, you can try running up the steps. From what I remember there were just over 200 of them.

Hi ginty
got your message and sadly apart from the few pics on my site from a few years ago theres not much info I can give you
I did pass by in may and there was a little work being done so didnt see the point in taking pics.
I did hear that they were a part of the cala dor or owned by the same people now but then that may be rumours.
however it would be nice to have them updated on my nevada pics so any help welcome as it will help others to view the changes if any themselves.
cheers

ps. I dont think they have ever closed for refurbishing so guess the rooms are being done up on a day to day basis when they are empty so chances are they will not all be refurbished yet.

Young bootsy one of the forumers always stayed at the Nevada. I have seen some pics and the rooms looked ok inside pretty much the same as the other apartments. Pool area looked nice as well.

I used to live in the Nevada while working for Pricador (owners of Cala Dor and Nova in PR). Moved back to the UK a year ago but I hear they are looking pretty good from a few friends still there.

The Nevada, yeah we stayed here one of the first times we came out, so that must have been before the refurbishments as mentioned here above.

The thing about brochures they never really show/ picture of what the whole hotel is like in context of its location in a resort, all the pictures in a brochure are disjointed, a pool here, a room there. This hotel as we found at 2am after a long day was right along the top of the resort. We travelled with first choice who dropped us kerbside tellingus all to go to reception. To get in we had to drag cases up how many steep slopes to from reception next to the lift. Where we took it inturns to get in and ride up. Our room said it sleeps 4/6 we had two very thin mattresses on thing wooded bed frames and a rockhard corned bed setee. When I shut the curtains the rails fell out of the wall so i went down to reception to make them aware as i wasnt paying for that, the lights off and the man on reception had gone. The TV was pay as you go and didnt work anyhow. We had the girls with us and they was just tired and push the beds together and went to bed.

Luckily things looked better in the morning our room was right at the top, we had a balcony from where you sit in the uninterupted sun, and see right down and accross the valley and at night you could watch the lights below. It was perfect for spying on Graham saying im going for a walk, then watching him crossing the road at the town and nipping to the side window for a sly a Mcdonalds, and ring him up saying we can see you :tongue:LOL.
We was on the top level and as you come out the back door you can see how the hotel is built right up to cliff face, and if youlook down you could see the drop below. The pool was large, looked clean though we didnt go in, and it had a poolside bar but no entertainment on it was May so they should have had something. The stairs werent to much of a prob, when we went out just have to make sure we had everything as you couldnt just nip back up, and when we were out just catch a taxi back, which do pass the door going the other way regulary.

Probably wouldnt stay there again as it was:blue:, but will have a look online at the refurbishments. The other worry was there was no one on reception at night and the gates roadside were left unlocked, meaning any passer by could wander inoff the streets. When we handed our passports in on arival, when we went to pick them up next day they were left an unmaned reception desk in numbered pigeon holes, some with keys in. Any opportunist could take the passports, or take a key and let themselves into your room.
