Hey all,

Asking for your opinion again.

Planning the wedding at the mo. Was wondering does anyone have good suggestions for the wedding song first dance. I have had a few smart comments from friends like, "Caught in A Trap" :thankyou: , "Its Over" :) etc. etc. Very Funny Lads, Very Funny.

If anyone has any GOOD suggestions will ye scribble them down here so I can have a glance over them.

Cant find anything we like.:banghead: Driving us crazy.

Cheers,

Al.

p.s. At least now we think we have the date set.

If you want something truely romantic for a slow dance try and find someone who's got a copy of Robert Plant's "Song to the siren" (Dreamland album 2003)

Forget the heavy rock reputation, its a beautiful haunting love song that will bring a glint to me and my partners eyes forever!

slightly off topic but just noticed this Chorlton about Lynden David Hall

Soul star dies after cancer fight

Soul singer Lynden David Hall has died after battling cancer for two years.

The south London-born singer - who won the 1998 Mobo best newcomer award - had been suffering from the rare cancer Hodgkin's Lymphoma and died on Tuesday.

Discovered by the manager of UK group Loose Ends, the 31-year-old singer-songwriter released his debut album Medicine 4 My Pain in 1998.

Hall's third studio album In Between Jobs was released on the independent label Random Records last year.

His biggest hit single Sexy Cinderella reached number 17 in the UK charts in 1998, and he was nominated for best British male at the Brit Awards the following year.

More recently Hall appeared in the film Love Actually as a wedding singer, performing All You Need Is Love.

In November, stars including Beverley Knight, Roachford, Shola Ama and Ms Dynamite headlined The Lynden's Wish concert at London's Jazz Cafe to raise money for cancer charities.

Im putting the finishing touches to my wedding plans at the moment, we're very lucky though because my best friend is a song writer and he has written our first dance song which is really beautiful.

Our other choices included:

Your Love Is King - Sade but we were going to have the Will Young version from Bridget Jones 2 which i prefer

Something About The Way You Look Tonight and Your Song by Elton John

Come What May - Moulin Rouge

Kissing You - Desree - the love theme from romeo and juliet

Here are some that were suggested to me:

Lady In Red
Thank You For Loving Me - Bon Jovi
Have I Told You Lately
This Years Love - David Gray
Cant Take My Eyes Off You - Andy Williams
Crazy For You - Madonna
Just The Way You Are - Barry White

try these links below, give you ideas for every bit of your wedding that needs a song

read somewhere that one bride asked for a commodores song called EASY

but the words are even funnier

Know it sounds funny
But I just can't stand the pain
Girl I'm leaving you tomorrow
Seems to me girl
You know I've done all I can
You see I begged, stole
And I borrowed

Ooh, that's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning

Why in the world
Would anyboddy put chains on me?
I've paid my dues to make it
Everbody wants me to be
What they want me to be
I'm not happy when I try to fake it!
No!

Ooh,that's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning

I wanna be high, so high
I wanna be free to know
The things I do are right
I wanna be free
Just me, babe!

That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning
That's why I'm easy
I'm easy like sunday morning
Because I'm easy
Easy like sunday morning
Because I'm easy
Easy like sunday morning:banana: :D :thankyou:

Do what you want but they are usually a smoochy number - time to be alone for the first time that day, for a cuddle - well hardly alone as you'll have all the guests watching your every move

Have a listen to the song 'HERE WE ARE ' - its by GLORIA ESTEFAN. I've always thought it would be a lovely first dance song. Really nice lyrics and just right for a slow dance.

All the best for your future marriage!!

Friends of ours had this played as their final song at their wedding last year. It was so funny, everyone stood around them in a big circle while they danced away to it!!

We're also in the planning stages of our big day, which isn't until Feb'08, we are thinking of having 'Amazed' by Lonestar as our first song or 'From this moment' by Celine Dion.

Best wishes for your wedding plans.

Well my ex was 10 years older that me:ohmy: , so when we were first going out he named some songs that reminded me of him and this one was one of them, long long before dj sammy did it. It makes it harder to forget though when they turn it into a bloody dance song though that you still hear all the time lol
