Pickpocket pair caught in Mogán
A pair of Romanian pickpockets operating in busy street markets in the south of Gran Canaria have been arrested by police in Mogán. Police say the two men, both in their late 30s, belonged to an organised pickpocket ring in the resorts and were reponsible for at least 16 thefts in the days before they were caught.
of the thefts took place in the Maspalomas market and another 6 in Mogán, with unsuspecting tourists the victims in all cases. Stallholders are believed to have helped the police locate the pair, who appeared in court under the new fast-track procedures for minor offences.
