Hi Folks.

We are coming over to PR in March and my wife was worried that the weather is going to be cold and also will it be 'freezing' in the evening in the bottom CC?

Please help me put her mind at rest as I said it's going to be great.

Regards,

Didn't you tell her it's Gran Canaria you're going to ?! Tell her not to worry about being cold - I've never even needed a cardigan in the evening in March although I always take one just in case. The most she'll need during the day is a bikini !

Even at Christmas the most I needed on in the evening was a cardigan over my strappy top. March is usually lovely & warm.
It shouldn't be a problem.

hate to burst bubbles but I was in PR the first week of March last year and it rained I would say about two or three days. It rained really heavy at night when we were making our way home. The roads were flooded, we went for a drive up the mountains on one of the very cloudy days and the roads were closed.

It was still very warm though.

we went to pdi 2nd week in march last year and it was very cloudy but warm during the day however on a night when we were waiting for taxis in strappy tops etc i was really cold, i couldnt have managed to walk to the pubs but once you get in the bars and restaurants they are lovely and warm

Sounds like the advice then is to take something warm - just in case - and apparently a brolly too - just in case !!! Fingers crossed that you won't need either.:)

Thanks for all the replies.

It seems a bit of a mixed response. I think the best thing is to take each night at a time. If it feels chilly, then take a cardie. If not, then don't bother but don't complain if the weather turns during the evening out.

My wifes problem is that when we were there in late August/early September last year the nightime temperatures were obscenely hot but she knows that this isn't going to happen this time but dosen't know what to expect.

The way I look at it is that if you take something warm and you don't need to wear it then thats OK. If you don't take something warm to wear and it turns cold then tough s#*t, it's your own fault.

I just hope she listens to me!!!!!

Cheers

think youve cracked it. Take a cardi/jacket, and wear it if necessary. After the heat of the day time sun I quite often get a bit cold in the evenings, even when it is relativly warm. Also some of the bars/restaurants in the CC are in a bit of a draft trap if you sit outside you might need something.

All the years we've been going to Gran Canaria we always have a laugh at the airport as i pack away my thick winter coat and say well i won't be needing that for two weeks. Last march i wasn't laughing as i had fish it out of the suitcase as it was so wet and cold...
