hi
futura was set up in 1989 as a joint venture with spanish investors and aer lingus for holiday charters we have travelled with them in the early 90s with direct holidays to majorca but i think direct now use mytravel and monarch airlines but occasionally fall back on futura they were based in palma at one time and like yflood this is the first i have heard of them for a while think they have leather seats though and rather forgetful meals but as long as they get you from point a to point b for a reasonable price then why worry take a sanny with you if required and plenty drink.

I've flown with them a good few times and will be doing so again 3 weeks tomorrow...... cannot wait ........

They do have leather seats and have entertainment on board, meals are the standard fare that you get these days. Leg room is tight but if you get to check-in early and ask for the extra legroom seats you might avoid that hassle.

Ive flown with them before (I think they are the carriers for seguro?) however the flights were fine, as rabc says the food was not so good but staff were friendly . Being a spanish airline you will probably find that the home bound flight will be one of the earliest out so no hanging about all day waiting to go home. Certainly as good if not better than some Mytravel flights ive been on

Unless you are flying with BA as they have just brought in new rules http://www.canaryforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1770&highlight=luggage

Dont worry. it took me a few goes - of baggage, limit, airline baggage, suitcases and then luggage until I found the threads I was looking for

I've flew with Futura Airlines a few times from Ireland.

They are the same as any budget airline, I suppose.

You pay for meals now, Sandwiches, cooked meals or Pizza.

In May when I flew with them, they showed a film, Big Mamas House2, on both journeys, never want to see that again, it was €2 for headphones.

Staff are polite and friendly, what else is there to say.

Tour Rep says Spanish Authorities are very strict on luggage allowance (20kg) and asked if people's bags were overweight to share with other passengers who are underweight.

You cant share weight!!!! I wouldnt put someones things in my bag if my bag was underweight!!!!

I suppose if it was in a separate bag and just went on the scales, but still...

Mmmmmmmm dodgy dodgy one of the first things you are asked at check in is did you pack your bags yourself has anyone asked you to carry anything for them.
what do you say then my friends bag was overweight so they asked me to carry some stuff for them as mine was underweight.
next scenario security private room embarrasing luggage search and full body search. need I carry on no !!!! do not think so:cry:

Rec. you take your own refreshments, remember that the aircraft are provisioned in Spain, not the UK.
