hi, 6 of us girlies flying out 2 gran canaria on 12th june for 2 wks stayin @ liberty apartments, can ne1 tell us wot the apartments are like? and far is it from everything, like bars n clubs n everything? also how much spending money do u reckon i'll need 2 take? thanx guys :D

I stayed at the Liberty Apts and they are pretty central. YOu are a 2 minute walk from the Gran Chapperal, Yumbo and slightly further to the Irish Centre.
The staff are pleasant and there is a bar in the basement and small shop there too.
The apts were refirbished last year and have all been upgraded a bit since I was there so this should ensure that it's a bit fresher.
I've booked up again to go back in May for a week and have no hesitations staying there.
Its also peaceful and even though on a main road pretty quiet as there arent any clubs directly next to you pounding out loud music to all hours.:D

As for how much to take with you .... as you'll probably walk to most places and taxis are abouit a 2 Euro ride (about £1.20) for a full cab (except sundays) I can get by on about £300 for 1 week and thats including food, drink and the necessery duty free - dont buy the ciggies n booze on the place on the way out as it is really expensive. Wait till you get to PDI and cheapest place AI have found so far is Bazzarr on the planta 1 of the Yumbo - 7 Euro for 200 ciggies. Drink is about 8 Euro for a 75cl bottle of Vodka if you dont mind drinking unbranded. On the way back buy your ciggies n booze before you get on the plane as it's cheaper.

hiya, we are going same time as you but for 10 days (17 til 27th) and we are a group of 6 girls the same!!! we have been to pdi loads of times, cant say i have stayed at liberty but they do look nice enough, we did think about staying there ourselves. In terms of spending money ive got by on £400 before for 2 weeks however we tend to spend around £250 a week so id say anywhere between £500-£600 for 2 weeks, you will have enough to eat out most days, drink, shop and do some trips if you so fancy!!! If you wana meet up whilst over there give us a shout :)

Yeah there is loads to do in pdi, we keep going back!!! the nightlifes fab something for everyone, and during the day you can lie back and relax around the pool or theres the beach or theres plenty of trips you can do

I stayed at the liberty apartments last weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. The apartment was lovely, very modern and even remarked that I could live here!Both bedroom and living room had ceiling mounted fans. AC is available but I presume u have to pay. The safe was big enough for a laptop. Kitchen had microwave. Some tv channels were free, including an english one.I have no idea what facilities are available within the building.
