Happy Valley Restaurant, above The Highlander Bar and next door to Las Vegas Steak House in the main commercial centre in Puerto Rico is very good. If you like the sizzlers, like Chicken Tikka and Tandoori, then this place is good.....I was there last week and the first time I went in, I decided to have their special for 2. It was OK but not as good as here. While I was in, a guy across from us had two of the tandoori dishes from the proper menu and they looked great, so we decided to go back on the Sunday after the football. We were really glad we did!!! Mrs KT had Mixed Tandoori Grill...wow....there were allsorts on this sizzling plate. Prawns, Chicken, Lamb and Fish and I'll tell you, it was better than what we would get back home. I had Chicken Tikka with Madras Sauce. Well, this was outstanding.
The chicken was beautiful and the sauce was just the same as back home and there was enough to feed 2 people.
When we came out of there, we thought we had been in The Taj in Prestwick and I can tell you, The Taj is an excellent restaurant. We will most certainly be eating here again. Only time we really eat indian food on holiday is if we have been in the pub all day and unfortunately, the first week of our holiday the weather was atrocious, so we had a couple of all dayers in Tiffany's then The Happy Valley.

We've use Happy Valley a lot and it's always been great. We're often asked to phone them for take aways too as they deliver to customers up our way......we don't have an Indian at the Europa!!!

Have to agree with you here. We thought the food was fantastic.
As for the Taj Palace it was the worse meal (not just Indian) we have had in Gran Canaria. Maybe we just got them on a bad day but the service and food was a complete disgrace.

I have to agree,Taj Palace is great food and atmosphere, although do not go in a rush, the service is very very slow and a couple of occasions we have found it quite painful but we still return as we know the food is great and thats the main thing with an Indian lol.:have-fun:

Easy. There are 4.
Taj Palace down near Marina Suites - slow service but nice position and good food
Little India - Passarella centre - near Oscars. Good
Natraj - in the CC in PR - had a take away from there - good
Happy Valley - in the CC in PR - good but prefer the first two

hi...the Taj in the Puerto Nova apts...just down from DonQuioxtes has a good repuation.
In the main cc the natraj is not bad for a 'hot' phal either........

I have tried Taj Palace and Happy Valley. I would recommend Taj Palace out of the 2 but donīt go there if you are starving!!!!!!!! They are extremely slow in there! Saying that, the food is lovely. ;)

The poppudums are nice to start with (either plain or spicy) or onion bhajis. Ellis likes the pakoras but I have an aversion to peas so tend not to!
The lamb korma is gorgeous, as is the tikka masala. We usually order twice as much as we can eat then bring the rest home for lunch the following day.
