Taxi capacity!

Hi All,

We are heading to Playa Blanca in September and we have booked it independantly rather than as a package (and saved a large wodge of cash in the process, woohoo!! lol)
Can anyone tell me if taxis that can carry 5 passenger are readily available from the airport?
Ive looked at these pre-bookable transfers and they are only worth it if we would end up having 2 taxis for the 5 of us.
If anyone can help, I¬d be very grateful!!

Hi Colin,

I have already looked at the prices. It would be around 120 Euros. If I can get a 5 seater taxi each way it will only cost about €75.

We used to go to Lanzarote every Easter and always grabbed a taxi, as we stayed in Puerto del Carmen and it wasn't very far from the airport. Sometimes it was a bit of a bun fight or queue, so to try and get a 5 seater may be a problem if you haven't booked. Have seen a few Zafira type cars around in Gran Canaria lately so you may strike lucky, but bear in mind the capacity needed for luggage.

Most taxis are for 4 people, although people carriers are getting more popular. Don't think it is a good idea to take pot luck at the airport, as there is usually a queue and you normally take whatever comes along.
The best idea is to get a quote from Owen using the link at the top of the page. That way you don't have to wait and you can book a return journey at the same time. Very good reliable service.

Hamster, I booked with the link at the top of the page - i thought it was worth it rather than risk the stress when we arrive, plus someone pointed out that you will have to pay from the airport to the resort and back again EACH WAY coz they can only pick up in certain places. We worked out it would only be about €20 more to book.

by local law the taxi will only take 4 passengers
