Hi everyone - just after a bit of advice
I now have the Nif number but have been told that to get my things cleared at customs I need a PADRON from the town hall

Am living in Playa del Ingles - can anyone advise on how I get this and where the town hall is in Playa or is it San fernando!!

any advice would be gratefully received

Thanks

I think the nearest one is down near Holiday World.

Im proberly going to get this all wrong but here goes...did you get your Nif or NIE because if you have got your NIE then you need to go to the office down by holiday world and register for customs and then they will release your stuff. If you used a shipping company then they would have done that for you and you shouldn't have to deal with customs. Hope this helps..

Padron info http://www.grancanarianow.com/blog/?p=63
The nearest to you is by the courts down at maspalomas ( tax office ), you normally have to wait as there may be lots of people there. If you cant speak spanish it would be best to take someone with you who can help you. Make sure you have all you bits of paper with you .

Hi registered last year, i filled a form in with my n.i.e. , address etc. Then wrote a list of my family members below. It cost 3 euros for each person. I went back 2 weeks later to collect it, surprise surprise it was not ready for another week or so. It has come in useful to be on the padron for us. There is a nice asian girl first on the left as you walk into the town hall who speaks english. My advice to you about anywhere you go on the island, police station, town hall etc is take all relevant paperwork, photo-copies also and loads of patience. Everything is very slow & people are rude and try to skip in front of you. Good luck and let the force be with you.:nodding:

Hi paul we have lived here for 5 years now and have shipped out whole contents of our house last year and only last week through pickfords had another container for my mums stuff as she now is living here , ok yes it is correct you need to supply the shipping comany with your NIE and also they will ask for your padron which is a document you can get from the ayuntaniemto which is near holiday world ,and i will agree if you dont speak spanish take somebody as i speak spanish and have problem there sometimes lol . The padron is a proof of where you live and the address and i know from expierience if you rent then your landlord has to confirm you live there or at least take your contract agreement with you . They i had to take my landord there to sign with their passport when i was renting, so much easeir if you own a property as you should have all the paperwork required in your name . hope this helps a little adam
