Hello all,
Am enjoying the site, just joined today. Myself and my partner are very interested in going to Puerto Rico mid June...we don't know alot about the place but it looks wonderful.
Having never booked a holiday online before, I was wondering where you all book yours from? Can anyone recommend any good, reliable sites? Also, what is the nightlife like and where abouts is best to go without children, pref all inclusive!!
Many thanks

All the main travel companies have sites which are OK, or I use www.airflights.co.uk.
An alterrnative is to book your accomation through this site and your travel seperatly. Again airflights are good for that.
If you are all inclusive you do not get the chance to sample the fantastic and cheep restaurants in and around PR, BUT you do know what you have money wise to spend.
Good luck
Libbyo :)

hi ruth
we find booking seperate flights and accom works out cheaper. one site we use is www.broadwaytravel.com (http://www.broadwaytravel.com) it does flights and accom. is has a good selection for pr.the gloria palace and riu vistamar hotels do all inclusive a few mins from pr.the marina suites down at the harbour are lovely spacious and nice views of the harbour i think its the best weve stayed in so far..also the weather in june is very hot.one june we went we found it unbearable had to stay in between 10 and 7 during the day.then again maybe youll like it like that has to be better than our weather in june.

Hi Ruth,
You'll probably find that BA scheduled flights from Gatwick work out the cheapest, and give better flight times. - see http://www.britishairways.com/travel/home.jsp/ukhpag/gb/public/en_gb
Decide where you want to stay - plenty of reviews/advice on this site + maps etc, then e-mail Owen and see what sort of deal he can do for you - check out http://www.islascanariastours.com/index.html
(Even if your chosen accommodation is not one of those listed on his site ).
Then book your transfers from the airport in one of Owens limmos - arrive in style!!
Above all :have-fun:

i look at most of the holiday sites on the internet to find the holiday i want then go into the local travel agents and get them to look the same holiday up on their computors. it is usually the same price as online. give or take a few pounds.
they may even offer a further discount.

It is always worth going back to travel agent as they will usually beat (or at least match) price...they want our money!!

We use http://www.eclipsedirect.co.uk/ or http://www.firstchoice.co.uk . We usually take our quotes from there to Thomas Cook and they nearly always match (or slightly beat) the price although we are going to the Riosol at Easter and the price we got on eclipsedirect was unmatchable so we just did it online. Happy holiday hunting !

After hours and hours of trawling through the sites on the interweb, i have found you can`t beat good old TELETEXT.
Have a look through, compare a few prices before you book.

We have booked with Owen for the past three years, about three times each year.
And we have been unable to beat his prices on each occasion, and that is with his transfers, another service second to none. And I should add great apartments and service.

Ruth, it depends on what you are looking for. We have travelled to puerto rico many times so have seen it all. This time we have booked the RIU with thomsons. It has cost just over a grand for a week all inclusive. In November we paid £500 for a week self catering at the puerto plata and still managed to spend another £450. So it works out about the same but if youve never been before better to take the self catering option as you will want to go out and about and see the sights ,pubs and resturants on the site.
Me, i'll enjoy lying around the pool doing nothing at the RIU.
No matter what you choose you will love Puerto Rico.

You can take a look at this site www.apartamentosgelimar.com (http://www.apartamentosgelimar.com).
You can book directly to the owners of the resort from the 20th april to the 15th october. It is a nice and small resort of 12 two bedrooms apartments (max 5pers.)
