I stayed at the Green Sea in San Agustin with my family, mid-late June 2002. Absolutely superb holiday, the best I've ever had, due mainly to the entertainment team at the hotel.

The place may be up a bit of a hill, but there are two exits, the bottom one which leads you to the footbridge over the main road if I remember correctly. You can be on the beach in 10 minutes.

The rooms were spotless, the staff were great, the snack bar wasn't great but it was passable. There's also a mini-market on site which was very helpful. As I said previously though, the entertainment staff were out of this world, a Belgian couple called Tom and Sandy, and a Spanish guy called Sergio. They kept everyone in high spirits all day and all night and were truly remarkable. Quite sad really as the management told them their services were no longer required a few days before our holiday finished. Some people who had been there during our first week had already decided to come back the following year, mainly due to them. Anyone who went there around that time will know what I mean.

San Agustin itself is an idyllic setting for the perfect realxing holiday, whilst it's in easy reach of Playa del Ingles for those who prefer a few wild nights. The waterpark is very good although it's quite a way away. Saying that, the wonderful taxi service is cheap as hell (I say wonderful because I mean it - most taxi's are gleaming Mercedes with air conditioning and the most helpful drivers you could wish to meet). Also, try a trip to Puerto de Mogan. The word 'stunning' doesn't do it justice.

Basically, Gran Canaria is a truly wondeful place, and if I ever won the lottery, I'd be sure to have a second home there. Playa Taurito looks very nice :thumb:
