64 days and counting till im back in PDI [Archive]

Hi guys
64 days till im flying back out heading out on 10th March . anyone else there at this time??
Never been in march before so hoping its going to be as good as previous times.
Staying at Barbados Apts which i believe are right across from yumbo anyone got any more info on these apartments?

Well I have 99 days to go, a bit longer than you but at least it's double numbers rather than triple !! - and I'm on countdown already (see earlier thread). Staying at Marbella Golf Bungalows, never been there before either, but they look ok and for all the time I spend in them ..............

well i started counting in triple numbers too lol it wont be long in passing you'll be there soon. had friends stayed at marbell golf and we looked at those also, i think there basic but clean and as you say for all time you spend in them!
Have a Fabby time when you do get there , ill let you know how i get on!

I currently have 118 days till I go, and I started counting at about 170 days to go!!

It'll be my 10th holiday in Gran Canaria, and almost exactly 10 years since my first visit, so I'm sure it'll be yet another holiday to remember.

To help those 118 days pass, I'll continue to visit this wonderful forum, and keep on dreaming about being back in my favourite place in the world.

I am counting down the days aswell as I booked my next holiday to PDI last week - I'm so excited, cannot wait for the summer now, just want to go to PDI again! Especially because my boyfriend and our friends had originally wanted to go somewhere different, so I didn't think I'd get to come to GC this year :sadguy: But by some twist of fate they changed their minds!:banana:
It will be their first visit to GC and I know they will love it as much as I do!!!

well im now at 59 days not long now.
PDI here i come im so sad i have a countdown sheet at work which i mark off every day its only way i can get through to the next day thinking that its not long untill ill be back!

hi havent really got ne gud info on the apartments i just heard there really nice but one word of advice DONT eat from the *****s on the bottom floor near the steps in the yumbo center me and me mates jus got bk for hols out there and we went 4 dinner at the ***** and great big rat was running under our table and the staff jus looked at it and carried on like it was normal it was disgusting.

Yes i agree my sister in law arrived home from PR this morning after her first trip to the island, she has been listening to me run on about how wonderful it is after around 28 visits in the last 17yrs and she was straight on the phone saying she loved it and is going back next january but for 2 weeks this time :D

No, we fly from Newcastle and we're staying at the Riosol in Puerto Rico.

just got back from pr on saturday the 24th feb and i am now so depressed:sad: i only stayed for 1 week but it was the best holiday i have had for ages. i was a bit worried what the weather would be like but i needn't have worried. it was red hot most days with a lovely warm breeze. the best suntan i have ever had to date. i wish i was back there right now. had a late flight home to newcastle so it was dark upon arrival at the airport. dressed in flip flops (stupid i know) i stepped off the plane only to find myself in the biggest bloody puddle you have ever seen!!! oh how i wish the summer was here. i hope anyone who is going on their hols shortly a really good one and i hope you all get lovely weather.:grin:

Hi Gracie, well I am 4 weeks on Saturday (5 weeks yesterday) but the former sounds better. When I first booked up I was over 100 days and it's flown in, and I think the guy that started this thread is in GC just now, think he flew out yesterday - so you'll be on that plane in no time

7 weeks today, I'll be waking up in Playa del Ingles!

We arrive in the early hours, so obviously it'll be dark when we get there....but that just means that the first morning will be even more special.

I love the first morning...waking up and looking out from the hotel balcony for the first time of the holiday..to see what sort of view we have, and what the weather is like......fantastic.

this is the 1st tme that Ive flown late at night so will be doing the same !! - usually fly in around lunchtime or early evening and head out then but will be landing at about 11pm this time so the next morning will be like you said Boothie

As long as you get a room on the fourth floor or above, you are guarenteed a lovely view accross Playa del Ingles.

We love it there.......Where do you stay. Andy?

We have just come back from a week at The Beverly Park Hotel- we usually go Self Catering as we like to eat at different places - but we got upgraded to half board as our accommodation was being renovated - and I think my wife got used to the waiter service !!
We have stayed at The Walhalla four times and also Playa del Sol once.
We walked past The Buenaventura a few times the other week- looks nice - might give it a go one time !!

The Buenaventura IS very nice...I can recommend it to anyone.

My Brother in law and Sister in law stayed at the Beverley Park last year, and said it was good.

We also used to go self catering. so we can eat at differrent places, but after going half board for the last two holidays, we have realised how much cheaper it is.

We've also been to the Playa Del Sol, back in 98 and really enjoyed it there, but haven't seen it in any brochures, since.

Anyway....only 46 days to go now...........................

Too be honest we thought it would work out cheaper to go half board as well - so thats probably the way forward !!
We went to the Playa Del Sol through Airtours in Aug '99 - since then the only brochure I have seen it in is Escapades - which we don't qualify for any more !!

I've no doubt it will Gracie, especially with having others before that but its the age old problem, for the first few days after you book it you're for ever counting down and it seems light years away but once the initial excitement settles down you forget for a while and the weeks fly by.

It was nearly 300 to go when we booked Zante and thats only 52 days away now so 181 is nothing compared to that lol.

well if its any consolation, when I booked mine it was over 100 days to go a while back and Im halfway throught my holiday (in GC just now) and its as good as I knew it would be and as it always is .... so for all those peopel still to go on their hols, just think Im halfway through mine !!! but also closer to booking another one lol

I have only got 11 days to go now.....but this is the bit when time really seems to drag. The last couple of months have flown by, but now I'm so close, and have everything organised for the holiday, it will seem like ages.

It doesn't help, that because we are short staffed at work, today is my last day off before my holiday, so I've got to work 10 days in a row.

I'll need my holiday, by next Friday night, when I've finished work!!
