is it too actually do it, move to gran canaria, i guess you need money behind you till you find work, ect , what makes it hard too is i have 4 kids is this just something that i should dream or can it ever become a reality? what are the steps id need to take and where do i start. i want to live in peurto rico, thanks :wub:

It is as difficult as moving anywhere else, you do need to plan it well and have money to fall back on. You also need to learn the language as even in the touristy bits a big majority of people do speak Spanish. There are many posts on here about moving have a good read and you will find out loads. Its actually the hardest thing we ever did.
the most difficult and trying 18months of our lives.
but now coming up to the 2 year period its finally clicked into place.
Be prepared as its no piece of cake and not at all like moving around the uk.
Yes the language is different, but you have to be prepared to wait a long time for everything being an island. And everything is definatly Manana.
But once you can get pasted that it Good.
A lot of paper work , a lot of red tape, and dont expect the doors to open just because your English.
If you really want to come here and be expected to fit then you have to, do it the local way, learn the language and respect the local people. And your do just fine..................................
