Staying in the Santa Clara Bungalows for a week in February.
If anyone has stayed there recently I would appreciate any info - seen a few reviews but they were from at least a year ago and it sounded as though the complex was undergoing a renovation programme, with some people saying that their bungalows were out dated and others saying everything was brand new.
10 weeks and counting !!

hi, i have stayed at these apartments on 3 occasions, i wouldnt say that it is crawling with cockroaches at all. I hate them and certainly wouldnt have been back if it was! Santa Fe its sister complex has quite a lot of roaches. Anyway, we were supposed to stay at Santa Clara earlier this yr but as you said it has undergone some kind of renovation, but if its any use i have always enjoyed staying at these bungalows. They have a good location, the Kasbah is just dow the road and a supermarket round the corner. Enjoy, and let me know what they are like! xx

i stayed with lady c at santa clara and these are so9me of the better accom in pdi, as she says santa fe is the sister complex and def has the cockroach problem!! in the 3 times our group has stayed in santa clara i think i have seen one cockroach in the bungalow which is damn good for pdi!! the pools are a decent size and its in easy walking distance from yumbo and the kasbah. often they have toasters and kettles in the rooms at santa clara which you dont tend to get in most bungalows or you have to pay extra. also if you walk round to the santa fe there is a good restaurant called el carreton, does fab sangria, pizzas and pasta to name a few things. enjoy!

Thanks ladyc - been to PDI loads of times - but never stayed in bungalows - taking kids, parents and in-laws with us - my parents went to PDI on my recommodation and loved it, but in-laws never been before.
Hopefully we'll get three newly renovated bungalows and have a great time.
I will let you know what they were like

cheers itsybitsy - the Santa Clara sound OK - if your group has stayed there 3 times and seen only one cockroach then I can handle that !
Was looking looking for a decent restaurant as well - one of the reasons for going is for a special birthday.
Cheers for the info

to be honest andy el carreton is nice but prob wouldnt use it for a special birthday, i think el gaucho near the kasbah would prob be better for that and if you want somewhere really special id put a post on the restaurant board and then im sure the guys on here will be able to tell you some great places
