Am starting to look for my Xmas flights already. Have tried First Choice, Thompson, BA,Thomas Cook,XL and Monarch, Cheapest Flights and Flightline. Cheapest I've found so far is around £670 for the two of us return. Anyone got any other suggestions?
A lot of the dates that are for a return on 1st Jan and I'd like to stay till at least the 3rd. Am happy to fly any date between 22 and 25 December.

Booked mine 2 days ago, going out Boxing Day, returning 2nd Jan. £200 each plus taxes with BA from Gatwick. Total £474, decided waiting was probably not a good idea. Pre Xmas flights were a bit more expensive, returning after the 3rd cheaper. Dohop couldn`t quote when I tried.

Yeah. Leave it 'til later. Booked early last year, cost me a fortune, was sick of seeing cheaper flights all year and got messed around with flights for the bargain.

Why book so early? There are thousands of flights available to all of the islands at Xmas time. It's a very competitive market and a lot can happen in a year. I usually start looking about a month or so before Xmas. Yes it is a gamble, but in the last six years I've never failed to get out there, prices vary so much too !!

Because I'm really fussy - I want day time flights, extra leg room seats and specific accomodation. I also want the whole year to pay the holiday off!

Chorlton. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you get the flights you have booked up now.
Last year I booked this early with Iberia( direct flights good times etc), paid the money and sat back to watch the prices rise, knowing we had the exact booking we wanted which fitted our Christmas schedule of Us time v family. On 23rd December the call came. Iberia had cancelled our flights, put us onto alternative flights diferent times and the return was with a 5 hour stop in Barcelona. It was a real pain sorting it out. it cost us extra in the end too.
Others we met at the airport had their outward flight cancelation notifactaion at 6am that morning, they were due to fly at 9.00am!
Not sure that I will book to early this year!
