This is quite funny.

On reaching Amadores and stopping for a drink we decided to do a bit of exploring and walk on and see what was at the other side of Amadores.

We're quite adventures, within reason and although parts of the walkway and surroundings looked a bit dodgy we continued on.

Have a look at the photos - is this Playa de Tauro?

Anyway, we went on until we reached this "Steep Slope". The Wench was all for trying to go down this slope so as we could get onto the pebble beach and beyond.

Me - No Chance!! I'm a bit scared of heights and I could just foresee one of us tumbling down this "CLIFF" and ending up with broken bones and half drowned in the sea below.

We stood pondering it (ok argueing our case to each other);) for about 20 min or so. During this time, along came a young(er) couple and they half tried to go down a few times. Came back up and eventually up past the boulders and rubble at the top onto a road.

A few minutes later they appeared from where they entered onto the road and went back towards Amadores. I thought there you are - proved my point lets go back.

At that stage four Germans (or Scandinavians) all aged around 60 to 70 came along. I ponted out to them that it looked dangerous and maybe they'd be best not to go any further. To which I got a grunted "Dangerous".

We stood watching as they trundled on - half expecting to have to go back to Amadores for help.

The party of four consisted of 3 men and a very rotund woman - There was no way at all she was going to get down there!

Well sure as hell - it took them a good 10/15 minurtes but they managed to get down and away onto the beach without any mishaps. Much to the Wench's satisfaction and amusement and to my total surprise.

We went back to Amadores!

Don't judge a book by it's cover springs to mind.

yes thats Tauro beach with Bar Pio Pio on the beach. Maybe not a walk for flip flops but you missed a lovely bar for the sunset and refreshing drink

Thanks Mary. Maybe manage it next time.

Any idea what this is on the cliff face going away from Tauro - as you'll see it's just off the main road? Is that a chimney on it's roof?

Surely not someones house? Thought it may have been a lookout type thing like what they have on Jersey - Army/home guard used them to watch for the enemy.

This is where you're going to tell me its a toilet or electricity box or something right?

Sewage pump station. :) Oh well.

I took another photo of what looked like another resort from the lighthouse pier at Maspalamos. Think thats some sort of water/sewage place too.

My eyes aren't the best.

Mary - No it's going in the opposite direction ...towards Mogan.

No thats the cement works near Arguineguin.

You have to remember, when that was put there, it was put well away from any tourists etc but tourism has grown and so we've grown towards it

Start missing it, as soon it will be gone, being moved to nearer the airport, As there is another resort planned for there in about 5 years time.On the drawing board right now in the town hall.

Be a good place for a resort of some type as it juts out so much as I could see it from both Maspalamos and PR.

They'll have to clean the site up real good though because there's stuff in Cement that would burn the eyes out of your head.

The other way inland from the way into that village,by the cement works, Is another tiny little village, CERCADOS ESPINO almost before the high street, log cabin restaurant,in its own gardens. lovely there, and another restaurant on the one and only street. Not tried that one yet, but heard that it is good.
