On the old forum I asked if anyone knew what the building work going on at Amadores beach was - its to the right if you are looking out to sea. Having spoken to the lovely Max (of Maximos on Amadores - fab italian food) he says its going to be a mini golf (I've always thought that was the one thing Puerto Rico was missing :nodding: ), a kiddies play area and more parking. However as they've now been building it at least 12 months whether it will be open in time for summer remains to be seen

It is a mini golf course, a load of shrubs were planted last month but were blown away in the storm. Since then work seems to have come to a halt.

Hear these plans before, bar the villa! Also heard it was a shopping centre. I find it very odd that when you wander over and look around, there is no sign telling you what is comming. Most developers put up promotional signs before they start work! Oh well, one day it will be open and we can all know. Hope it opens quicker than the restaurant/bar/ sun lounge on the corner of the Amadores walkway opposite the Big Red. thats been opening soon for years! Wish it would its a great location........

Tauro the next bay around after Amadores is being developed by the Anfi group. They have plans to dig out a marina as well as building a golf course. After driving around the area last week work is well under way with the familiar pebble dashed style Anfi style bungalows already built and occupied. Golf course is nearing completion too!!!!

As far a we are aware Anfi lost all permissions to develop Tauro Beach some 4 weeks ago. We have not seen any of their machinery since then.
All we need now if for the council to come along an clean the beach of all rocks that arrived with the last storms, and then Tauro will be back to normal.

As far as we are aware Anfi/Santa Carzola lost all permissions for construction on Tauro Beach, some 4 weeks ago - hooray.
All that is needed now if for the council to come along and clean the beach of all the rocks which were washed up by the last storm on 28th February and 1st March, 2006.

Hi Folks.

Came back last night from a fab fortnight in Puerto Rico during which time we visited Amadores Beach regularly.

As mentioned previously, there is a mini-golf starting to take shape at the back (the side closest to the road) and although I never saw anyone working on this part, some of the holes which were marked out did actually take shape in concrete form during our stay.

As for the side closest to the sea there was a lot of activity there but it was impossible to see just what was taking shape, apart from a platform that was being built into the sea and the rocks going down to it were being scraped away to form a ramp which will more than likely be steps in the near future.

Unforetunately, the last visit during which I was gonna take some pics for rab_c, i was still under the influence and forgot my camera (come on, it was my 40th the night before) so my apologies for not capturing this worksite on film.

Regards,

Nutjackuk

No shopping center or any other building as it's too near the sea to get permission to lay foundations

I was told by someone who lives there that the huge apartments being built over the road from the beach might have to come down because they were thought dangerous.I was told a big court case was going ahead and that only a few workmen remain on the building site, as if it was left empty it would be classed as a deserted building.
